The CEO of military social network RallyPoint credits mobile for the site’s rapid growth, according to a report in the Boston Business Journal. RallyPoint, which had about 100,000 members a year ago, will have five times that many a year from now, the company predicted.
Mobile users make up about half of the site’s traffic, said Yinon Weiss, co-founder and CEO. The company recently launched apps for iOS and Android.
“What RallyPoint has grown into is a community with lots of discussion,” said Weiss, in the Boston Business Journal article.
The mobile apps will accelerate the growth, he said, in a written statement from the company.
“The thriving community of service members and veterans on RallyPoint has surpassed our expectations in two short years,” Weiss said. “RallyPoint Mobile is a vital next step in helping our members improve their lives, simply by giving them direct access to hundreds of thousands of others just like them. RallyPoint Mobile is the only collaborative application that empowers veterans and service members across all branches of service, units, and ranks to communicate directly.”
