The Massachusetts Institute of Technology has been awarded a $7.1 million Air Force contract for transparent computing.
MIT will develop new tagging and tracking approaches for finding causal relationships among activities across an enterprise environment. The techniques need to be especially adept at telling normal user activities from Advance Persistent Threat patterns, according to the Department of Defense contract announcement.
The work is scheduled to be completed by August 2019. MIT was selected from among 51 contenders. The contract was awarded by Air Force Research Laboratory.
