The unnamed employee, who was not on duty at the time, self-reported the incident on Jan. 26 and was questioned the same day by the Secret Service, according to NGA’s press release.

The employee is not involved in any NGA work related to drones or unmanned aerial vehicles, the release noted.
“Even though the employee was using a personal item while off duty, the agency takes the incident very seriously and remains committed to promoting public trust and transparency,” agency officials stated in the release.
The incident remains under investigation by the Secret Service.
