The Navy has awarded a contract for an ISR system that will be mounted on a C-130.
Compass Systems has received a $14 million sole-source contract for the Optical Sensor System Cargo Aircraft Roll-on/Roll-Off (OSSCAR) system for the C-130 A-J, according to a Department of Defense contract announcement.
The prior FedBizOpps pre-solicitation refers to the project as the “Operational Mapping and Networked Intelligence (OMNi)”-based OSSCAR.
“Support for the Roll-on/Roll-off Sensor Systems will include tasking for the Naval Manned Aircraft; development of Command, Control, Communications, Computer, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) systems; data management/fusion; and application to manned and UAV platforms,” said the pre-solicitation, which noted that testing may be performed in Iraq, Afghanistan and Colombia.
