Exelis has been awarded a $13.1 million Air Force contract for the Distributed Common Ground System.
More specifically, Exelis will work with the Air Force’s Distributed Common Ground System Distributed Mission Site Reference Imagery Transition program, according to the Department of Defense contract announcement. “Exelis will acquire the use of InfiniBandC (Peregrine) wide-area-network high-speed transport layer and data storage and dissemination capabilities,” said the announcement. “This effort provides direct feed of information without going through a third party, increased speed for data collection and processing, and cloud computing architecture.”
