Lockheed Martin has been awarded a $129 million contract modification to continue development of submarine sonar.
Lockheed Martin will continue working on the Acoustic Rapid Commercial Off-The-Shelf Insertion (A-RCI) system, which integrates and upgrades towed array, hull array, sphere array and other sensors, according to the Department of Defense contract announcement. The technology will be used for the U.S. submarine fleet and foreign military sales.
