Lockheed Martin has been awarded $13.2 million Navy contract modification for additional imagery equipment for submarines.
Lockheed Martin will provide six additional AN/BVY-1 Integrated Submarine Imaging Systems and their associated spare parts, according to the Department of Defense contract announcement.
“The Integrated Submarine Imaging System provides mission critical, all-weather, visual, and electronic search, digital image management, indication, warning, and platform architecture interface capabilities for the Los Angeles class; Seawolf class; Ohio class and Converted Ohio class; and Virginia class submarines,” the Department of Defense said.
“The Integrated Submarine Imaging System rolls up existing components and near-term capabilities, and provides a robust architecture for efficiently inserting future capabilities as they become available for Technical Insertion Advance Processor Builds within the Submarine Warfare Federated System process.”
