The Pentagon has awarded eight companies a contract, with a maximum value of $7.2 billion, to upgrade old electronic hardware and software.
Under the Advanced Technology Support Program IV (ATSP4) indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contact with the Defense Microelectronics Agency, the companies will “resolve problems with obsolete, unreliable, unmaintainable, underperforming, or incapable electronics hardware and software through development of advanced technology insertions and applications to meet the requirements of the Department of Defense for a quick reaction capability,” according to the DoD contract announcement.
The winning companies are Lockheed Martin, BAE Systems Information & Electronic Systems Integration, General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems, Northrop Grumman, Aeroflex Colorado Springs Inc., Raytheon, Boeing, and Honeywell.
The work is scheduled to be completed by March 2028.
