ThalesRaytheonSystems has been awarded a 92.5 million Euro (US$102.8 million) contract to upgrade the NATO alliance’s missile defense command system.

The Air Command and Control System (ACCS) will be expanded to “link national sensors and interceptors, with NATO’s Air Command in Ramstein, Germany, to plan and execute a missile defense battle,” according to a ThalesRaytheonSystems news release.
“The project involves a transatlantic industrial base across eight Nations and 15 industry partners,” the company said. It is expected to be completed by 2018.
