Rockwell Collins has released a real-time video link between unmanned aerial systems and helicopters.
The Secure Real Time Video (SRTV) transmits video into the helicopter’s cockpit, according to a Rockwell Collins news release. The system is designed to support the Army’s Manned Unmanned Teaming (MUM-T) operations.
“Giving Army pilots access to real-time video streams in their cockpits will directly improve their ability to successfully execute missions more safely and efficiently,” said Troy Brunk, vice president and general manager of Airborne Solutions for Rockwell Collins.
The open-source system uses a third-party Common Data Link transceiver to enable MUM-T.
