Russia has broadcast video, taken by Russian drones, that purportedly shows Syrian forces attacking anti-government forces.
The imagery, taken by Russian state broadcaster VGTRK, claims to show Syrian regime forces advancing into Jobar, a rebel-held suburb of Damascus, according to Britain’s Telegraph newspaper. The footage resembles a videogame, with techno music in the background, and American-sounding voices conducting military-style radio transmissions.
“Bellingcat, a citizen journalism group, has challenged many of the Ministry of Defense videos, saying that satellite photo analysis shows the MoD [Russia’s Ministry Of Defense] have occasionally lied about where strikes were filmed,” the Telegraph noted.
